Holidays in the heart of Provence: destinations and sights around Seillans

Get to know and love the surroundings of the village of Seillans!

Tour destination Côte d’Azur: only a stone’s throw away!

The Provence as well as the Côte d’Azur are places of longing that are unparalleled in Europe. When you see the almost endless lavender fields of Provence in their rich purple colour, you quickly start daydreaming and are torn from your dream with full force when you open your eyes again.

Seillans is located in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. From Seillans you can reach the beautiful country roads of the region Sainte-Maxime, Saint-Tropez or other picturesque harbour towns along the Côte d’Azur within one hour by car.

Sainte-Maxime: the perfect place for the whole family!

Here you can make excellent day trips with real added value for the whole family. Sainte-Maxime with its narrow and picturesque lanes is our insider tip for all those who want to avoid the sometimes expensive cafés and restaurants Saint-Tropez. Sainte-Maxime is located exactly opposite Saint-Tropez but is much more tranquil, cheaper and family friendly. With the fast ferry, a kind of water taxi, you can reach Saint-Tropez for approx. 13€ (price 2018) in only 10 minutes. A welcome cooling off on hot summer days. From the boat you can really see the beauty of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. A beautifully hilly Provence shows itself in the hinterland, in the foreground the picturesque villages on the coastline and then this unique azure blue sea water. A feast for the senses!

Saint-Tropez: Jetset town, fishing town & Mecca of the rich and beautiful

Saint-Tropez always leaves two impressions. Attraction and repulsion in one. On the one hand, this picturesque metropolis lies so idyllic on a promontory like no other fishing village on the Côte d’Azur. On the other hand, Saint-Tropez is the epitome of capitalist showmanship.

Accompanied by the millions of yachts in the small harbour basin Saint-Tropez, numerous cafés, bars and restaurants line up at the promenade that vie for the favour of the tourists with wonderful French pastry creations, especially in the afternoons.

Once you must have seen Saint-Tropez!

But it has to be said that the name Saint-Tropez is paid for from the water, over the ice, to the purchase of clothes.

Nevertheless, Saint-Tropez is a place you have to see. The history and the marketing of this place are absolutely fascinating and if one walks through the small and clearly empty alleys in the centre of the village, then it quickly becomes clear what beauty and attraction Saint-Tropez really has. Dream photo motifs are guaranteed here!

Trip to Provence: intoxicating for all the senses!

The typical lavender fields and the endless expanse of this region are best reached by car. Not necessarily planned or guided. Just drive around and we guarantee that you won’t be able to decide where you want to rest. Every new corner in Provence has its own fascination.

The Provence fragrance experience, coupled with the beauty of the region, is particularly invigorating. Standing in the lavender fields, the scent of the lavender in bloom bewitches you. The Provence is still natural and genuine in 2019, when it is crossed by small and cosy villages. The people here are much more relaxed and comfortable than on the coast. Here you can unfold your soul without stress and time pressure.

Aix-en-Provence: the pearl of Provence

You can easily reach Aix-en-Provence in just over an hour and a half. Aix-en-Provence is the epitome of a dreamy historic city, which has fought its way into modernity. Here, nothing has been broken, restored or even demolished and replaced by new concrete buildings. Aix-en-Provence offers an unparalleled medieval charm in the heart of Provence.

Especially the Atelier Cézanne, the former atelier of the artist Paul Cézanne, is our specialty. Despite the large number of visitors, the studio has always retained its magic and charm. Our restaurant tip for you: the “La Tomate verte” restaurant in Aix-en-Provence. Modern French cuisine is served here. Costs for a menu: per person approx. 30 € and for a single main course approx. 16-22 €. A visit is always worthwhile!

Avignon: the world famous city of the popes

Although Avignon is a little further away from Seillans, as you have to calculate a good 3 hours drive, this excursion is worth it! Avignon is a more than interesting and informative city for young and old, big and small.

The Pope’s Palace, the massive city wall and the wonderfully preserved medieval city wall overlooking the Rhône will enchant your visitors within seconds. Here it becomes clear how powerful the catholic church was in the Middle Ages and under which troubles this fortress of the popes was built.

After visiting the Pope’s Palace, we recommend an extensive walk through the wonderful old town. The streets are lined with cafés, restaurants and bars. Here you will find something for every taste.
